Hosted by the Appalachian RC&D Council, Woody Platt and the Bluegrass Gentlemen promises to be a night of award-winning songwriting and virtuosic bluegrass gentlemen at the top of their game and fame. Platt’s all-star band is Casey Driessen, “mad scientist on a 5-string fiddle”, Buddy Melton, farmer and North Carolina multi-instrumentalist known from Balsam Range, Darren Shumaker, mandolin player for today’s top bands and lead acts, and popular banjoist and educator, Bennett Shumaker. Opening act will be a songwriters circle featuring the finalists of the local Love For the Land songwriters contest.
